For more than seven centuries, the dornas (typical Galician boats) have dominated the picturesque landscape of the Rías Baixas, playing a crucial role in activities such as fishing and transport.

Inspired by these emblems of our estuaries, Sargadelos reproduces its distinctive forms, from the prominent rounded bow to the inclined stern, bathed by the stelae it leaves in its wake.

The contrast between the curved lines and the defined edges expresses the effect of the winds and the waves when crossing these seas, being an ode to the simple essence of the marine culture of the region, as expressed by the poet Manuel María:

“There’s no dorna like mine,

So gentle and so light.

My well-crafted dorna!

My seafaring dorna...!

My dorna always forward, You cross all the sea.

How beautiful! How elegant! How well you know to sail.”
