Harlequin
Ref: 06000014
Description: In 2015, the 120th anniversary of Pablo Picasso's first exhibition in his long artistic career was celebrated. The event took place in February 1895 when the young artist was 13 years old, in a commercial establishment on Calle Real in the city of A Coruña, where the boy lived from 1891 to 1895. What better way to celebrate this happy event than with a figure designed by the Laboratorio de Formas de Galicia, representing a joyful and festive character like the Harlequin, who embodies the cunning and intriguing protagonist of the Italian Commedia Dell'Arte.
This character appears in many works from all stages of the Málaga-born painter, especially during the Cubist period in the early years of the 20th century. This decorative piece was hand-painted on glazed porcelain with intense red color and fired at 800º C (for the third time), making its production process more labor-intensive. Numbered: 1/1000 units.
Dimensions: Height: 20 cm.
Material: Porcelain.
Care: Clean with a soft, damp cloth.
